The California Blues – Nearly 50% Failed the California Bar Exam and the Repeat Takers Failed at a 75% Rate

California’s bar exam results have been released.  The pass rate on California’s July 2019 bar exam was 50% and the repeat taker pass rate was only 26%.

Although California ABA first time takers was 71%, the repeat rate was just 36%.  Out of state ABA repeat rate was only 29%, the CA accredited repeat taker pass rate was just 14%. The unaccredited school students were even worse – the first time takers ranged from 20-29% and the repeat takers ranged from 9% to 13%.
