All multiple choice questions will be based on Florida law, and will test the following 7 subjects: Florida Rules of Civil Procedure; Florida Rules of Criminal Procedure; Torts; Business Entities; Evidence; Wills; and Trusts. As we can see, Florida has added some Torts and Trusts questions to the multiple choice.

The 3 essay questions will test Federal Constitutional Law and the following six subjects (all based on Florida law): Torts; Real Property; Florida Constitutional Law; Ethics; Contracts; and UCC Article 3.  As we can see for the essays, Family Law and Secured Transactions will not be tested in October.

Florida has Rescheduled the Florida Bar Exam for October 13th. The MBE & UBE Testing Institute Can Help You

The Florida Board of Bar Examiners has rescheduled the next Florida Bar Exam for October 13, 2020, using an online format provided by ExamSoft. 

The October administration will be 3 essay questions and 100 multiple-choice questions on the same content as the examination that had been scheduled for August. 

ExamSoft has more than 20 years’ experience with delivery of online exams. Every applicant sitting for the October 2020 Bar Examination must have access to a computer that has installed the necessary ExamSoft software. 

All multiple choice questions will be based on Florida law, and will test the following seven subjects: Florida Rules of Civil Procedure; Florida Rules of Criminal Procedure; Torts; Business Entities; Evidence; Wills; and Trusts.

Other subjects that are normally available for testing under the current Bar Admissions Rules will not be tested in October. The Florida Board of Bar Examiners Has Severed Ties With The Software Firm, ILG Technologies, for the Remote Bar Exam Now Scheduled for October

 The Florida Board of Bar Examiners has cut ties with the company behind the Florida Bar exam software.

The move comes after software glitches forced the board to postpone the exam for a third time on August 19th, delaying hundreds of future attorneys the opportunity of taking the bar exam and getting a job. The postponement came after people complained about security breaches and technical glitches with the online software that was being used for the exam. The Florida Board of Bar Examiners said they tried to fix those glitches but ran out of time.

In July, the Florida Board of Bar Examiners, canceled the in-person exam because of the coronavirus pandemic, scheduling an online exam for August. The board announced the company ILG Technologies would provide the software program.

That same month, both Nevada and Indiana —  states also using ILG’s software, postponed their online bar exams because of technical issues.

The bar exam is now scheduled for some time in October.

The New Lower Passing Score in California Spurs Record Registrations for California's Online October Bar Exam

 A record 12,000 applicants have registered to take California’s October bar exam, even as uncertainty continues to swirl around remote, online tests. Despite the uncertainty of the online test, the new lower passing score may have attracted many more test takers.

Applicants have until September 8th to withdraw from the exam and receive fee refunds.

Bar administrators are still working out the mechanics of the exam as well as the details of how a provisional license program mandated by the California Supreme Court will work. A “Frequently Asked Questions” posted on the bar’s website details technical requirements test-takers will have to meet, including a laptop with a functioning webcam and microphone, and rules that applicants must follow. Applicants will be required to take a mock exam to practice using the software provided by ExamSoft, the vendor that experienced tech problems during the administration of the Michigan bar exam.

Kentucky and Oklahoma are now UBE Bar Exam States – The MBE & UBE Testing Institute Can Help Repeat Takers Prepare for the UBE Bar Exam

Days Before the Bar Exam, Florida Postpones the Bar Exam Until October

The Florida Board of Bar Examiners, with the approval of the Supreme Court of Florida, announced last night that the bar examination that was scheduled for Wednesday, August 19, will not go forward. Despite the board’s best efforts to offer a licensure opportunity in August, it was determined that administering a secure and reliable remote bar examination in August was not technically feasible. 

The board remains committed to offering an examination to applicants in 2020 and will reschedule the examination for a date to be determined in October. The October examination will have the same content as the examination that had been scheduled for August. The board will announce the date and other information for the October examination in the coming weeks. When this information is announced, August 2020 applicants will have the opportunity to take the October examination or to postpone to the February 2021 examination.

In addition, the board, with the Court’s approval, announces that it is creating a supervised practice program, along the lines of the already existing Certified Legal Intern program, that will allow for practice with supervision by a member of The Florida Bar.

1 Week Until You Pass the Florida Bar Exam

 Florida applicants have 1 week  until the August 19th bar examination. Instead of spending these days getting nervous about the time, concentrate on what you have left to do.

We know that the students have been upset and concerned with the pandemic and the state of confusion as to rules of the remote online exam Florida is using. But try to put your concerns aside and fully focus on what you must do in the remaining 1 week.

Your goal for this last week is to stay the course while you solidify your knowledge of the black letter law and improve your timing. Whatever it is you’ve been doing the past couple of weeks, keep it up.  Stick with what you know, confirm your knowledge and reinstall your confidence in the material.  As to the bar exam itself, make sure you have taken at least one or two simulated exams.

2 Weeks Until You Pass the Florida Bar Exam

Florida applicants have almost 2 weeks until the August 19th bar examination. Instead of spending these days getting nervous about the time, concentrate on what you have left to do.
