California’s Statistics for February 2018


Last week, California came out with their general statistics for February 2018.  First time takers only passed at a 39% pass rate, while the repeaters only passed at  22.8% pass rate, with all takers passing at a 27% pass rate. Interestingly, repeat takers were the majority of takers. There were 3434 repeat takers while there were 1267 first time takers who sat for the bar.

The CA ABA approved schools passed at a 34% (with 1st time takers at 45% and repeat takers at 31%).  The out of state ABA schools passed at a 29% (with 1st time takers at 35% and repeat takers at 27%).  The CA accredited schools passed at 12% (with 1st time takers at 23% and repeat takers at 9%). The CA unaccredited schools passed at a 11% (with 1st time takers at 21% and repeat takers at 7%).  The foreign educated students passed at 16% (with 1st time takers at 19% and repeat takers at 14%).

Next time we’ll look at the California law schools passing rates.
