The New York and Massachusetts Bar Exam Results



The New York bar exam results for February 2018 have been released.   Interestingly, this bar exam had the lowest number of candidates examined in February since 2009.

The passing rate for first time takers from ABA accredited schools was 69%, a 2% decrease from last year.  The overall pass rate for all ABA grads was 45%. For the foreign educated first time taker rate, the passing rate was 42% and its overall pass rate was 28%, a decrease of 6% from last year.  The overall pass rate, which includes all candidates was 38%, this is 6% lower than last year.

Of the repeaters who took the bar, the pass rate was 25%, which is 9% lower than last year.
