It’s a horror story: February 2018’s MBE score was the lowest average score on a February bar exam. The mean score has rapidly dropped since 2014. The NCBE believes the downward trend is likely to continue.
The mean scaled score on the February administration of the MBE fell to 132.7, down 1.3% from last year. Every February the mean score has fallen by at least 1 point.
February 2018: 132.7
February 2017: 134
February 2016: 135
February 2015: 136
July MBE scores have also fallen.
As we know, repeat takers desperately need any point they can muster. A full percentage point down from last year means low bar exam scores and that means that more repeat takers will fail the bar exam.
