For the first time, the ABA has
released both first time and ultimate outcomes for bar exam pass rate for every
ABA accredited law school. This new data provides bar pass rates at all
ABA-accredited law schools.We can now
go to the ABA and see all the schools’ data and eliminates the need to search
each school’s sites for the information. The good news is that the newly
released data shows that the majority of law graduates who take the bar exam
pass within two years, even at a time when state pass rates have been trending
down. Nearly 88 percent of 2015 law grads
who took the bar passed within two years, the ABA found. Additionally, 77
percent of the 2017 law grads who took the bar passed on their first try, as
did 74 percent of 2016 grads nationwide. The ABA data also shows how each
school’s bar pass rate compares to the statewide pass rate. The

Another law school is closing at
the end of the spring semester. Savannah Law School, which opened in 2012, will
become the nation’s fourth law school in the past year to either close or announce
plans to close. Savannah Law School will be joining Indiana Tech Law School,
Whittier Law School and Charlotte School of Law. Indiana’s Valparaiso
University School of Law, is not accepting new students as it seeks to merge
with another law school or relocate. The closures come as law schools struggle
to attract applicants amid a tight job market and years of declining national
bar pass rates. Savannah Law School, with
approximately 200 students, is a branch
campus of John Marshall and is accredited by the ABA. Students in their 3rd
year will be allowed to graduate, but all other students will have to transfer
to other schools. The

Traditionally, North Carolina bar
exam results come out at the end of March.Last year the results were mailed out on March 27 and received on March 29th.North Carolina will be coming out in

Massachusetts bar exam ever given.Effective July 2018, Massachusetts will administer the Uniform Bar Exam
(UBE). North Carolina will go to the UBE in February 2019, however, the state
will start accepting UBE scores in July. To those students who are taking

The Uniform Bar Examination (UBE)
consists of six 30-minute questions and 2 Multiple Performance Tests (MPT).
There are 30 states now that test the UBE. States that have the UBE are

exam itself. The tested essay subjects were: Criminal Law and
Procedure/Delinquency, Constitutional Law and Property/Constitutional Law. What was surprising is that in each question, there
was Constitutional Law aspect to it.And

The bar exam is over and the waiting begins and
ExamSoft sucks. On the first day of the exam, applicants were faced
with widespread outages of ExamSoft, which caused exam delays in several
jurisdictions, including in New York and Florida. It was eventually resolved,
and an extra 30 minutes to an hour were tacked onto their first day of the exam
to make up for the early delays. That recitation does not cover the emotional
aspect of being ready to start your exam and be confronted with the horror that
your ExamSoft didn’t work.Talk about
being thrown off your game. North Carolina is usually one of the first states to
release its results in approximately a month. Then the states begin to roll in,
one after another. For now, take the time to relax and have fun. You
deserve it. There will be enough time to fret and wait for your results. The
